After nearly four years of persistence, on June 6, 2006, YVSAR received it first of two John Deere 6x4 Diesel Gator with Med-Bed. These transport units will go a long way in providing enhanced medical care for patients at pre-planned events and incidents. We still need to mount the LED lights, siren, and other equipment.
In the fall of 2002, the ski patrol side of YVSAR, moved into their new Ski Patrol / Aid Room. Having been in the original patrol room since 1964 (aka the cave) and now supporting over 65 patrollers, for a small patrol this second to non, facility is outstanding. The facility has three sections, a office area, a day room and a separate aid room. The aid room and day room both have cable TV, DVD, and VFC, communications and WIFI internet access. During the ski season, it is staffed with National Ski Patrollers and EMT's providing ALS care on the hill. The patrol also makes up the majority of members of the Black Mt. Ski Patrol in Jackson, NH
In the spring of 2000, YVSAR obtained it first medical, licensed in the State of Rhode Island (RI) as a non-transport part-time ALS / BLS unit (C1A). This trailer has be utilized at special events and incident throughout the state as an aid/medical station and can also be utilize as a mobile communication center. The trailer has a super quiet portable Honda EU3000is generator with inverter technology, one low band Vertex VX3000 mobile, two VHF VX3200V mobiles, two UHF VX3200U mobiles, one Yaesu FT-90R ham radio, and one dual band noise canceling system (aka AM/FM/CD radio w/speakers). On-board is a 45amp Progressive Dynamics Inteli Power converter to power the radios and/or charge the battery.
